When you talked about the quilt and the missing triangles I thought that if it is the star color that is missing it would be kind of fun to just make one whole star in a different fabric but I guess you already would have thought about that if that was the case.

Your experiments with paper marbling was captivating and reminded me of my own experience (limited but fun) with this technique years ago. What better “camp” than Aunt Sara’s camp for your niece. Building lasting memories are enriching for everyone! We do this with our grandson and I feel so grateful each time for the expected and unexpected adventures we have together. Love your time with your niece. Every time I see my granddaughters, who don't live near us, I show up with Mimi's craft boxes. We have so much fun. I'm teaching the older ones to knit. Newly retired, I'm looking forward to more time with them. Love your channel!!! ❤

Sarah, great forays into marbling! I’ve lots of marbling supplies in my studio I need to dig out and use again, you’ve inspired me….did you know you can also marble using colored chalk, scraping the dust bits on top of water….I’ve done this in the past with my elementary students, because it is less technical (I am a recently retired art teacher), results are lovely! Enjoy your summer break!

Hi Sarah. I was mesmerized watching you marble paper. I had to set my stitching aside. Making do is what patchwork is all about. It will make this quilt unique and special. I am inspired to pick up a wall quilt I am hand quilting after I finish my stitched birthday sampler today. Your sweater is absolutely beautiful! I've been making fodder through Willas classes and love it!❤ I want to make a fabric book too as I am an experienced embroiderer and stitcher. I paint, print, stitch and knit. 6:38 I enjoyed this episode. I wanted to recommend a book that I think you would like. The title is Forage & Stitch by Caroline Hyde-Brown. She is a textile artist from the UK. The project on p. 112, "Ancient Woodland" is gorgeous!

The Eastern Phoebes and the sassy squirrels are pulling me right back to camp, along with seeing you in your space.

Sarah, I realized that I tend to watch on our television and that means, for me, that I forget to Like and comment as I used to do more often here on UA-cam. As someone with a very limited sense of smell, this idea is fascinating to me. I have never been able to smell many things or very often in my life. When I do, it’s normally bad smells. I’m just so mind blown over the concept of making your own perfume and then basing a color palette in that.

That's so funny! I'm sitting here tonight knitting with some Hope Spinnery Wind-Spun that has been in my stash for like...20 years, watching this episode as I knit...and you just talked about this yarn! I bought it at the Common Ground Fair and have held it close for so many years. I'm making a hat (The Traveler Hat). I also have some ancient Alice Starmore that I need to find the right project for. Anyway...just had to say it was a fun surprise to hear you mention your Hope Spinnery stash!

Alice Starmore is a genius and a treasure. I knitted her Henry VIII sweater from her book Tudor Roses back in 2000. That sweater is where I keep all of my wool and knitting Street Cred. It's my one earthly possession that my kids will probably fight over when I'm dead and gone. I say that in jest, but it's probably not far off the mark, in all seriousness.

The fabrics and patterns in your quilts dance together so well! What a treasure you are to your family and friends with your creativity. All the best as you wind down your school year. Do you have any beginning-of-summer traditions? When I was teaching I often put a book into my bike bag and rode along Minnehaha Creek to Minnehaha Falls in south Minneapolis. It's near the place where the creek empties into the Mississippi River. I'd buy an ice cream cone and read my book next to the Falls' overlook. And relish the expanse of the well-deserved summer break! 🚲 🍦 📖 😊

You caught the northern lights! Love your creative processes. I hear you about the difficulties of commuting for an entire work week - what to bring, how to not spend all one's time packing and unpacking, how to remember to bring what one wants/needs. I am impressed at how much creativity you fit in on top of that travel! I can't wait to see how your natural dyeing turns out! I used black walnut powder a few months ago and even though I used a ton of the powder, the final color turned out to be a milk chocolate brown. I was hoping for a darker color. I had great success with madder. I also like the book The Modern Natural Dyer.

Wild color is one of my favorite natural dyeing books. Great techniques and recipes!
